CigarPursuits: Pursuing the "Perdomo Factory Tour Blend "

About Perdomo Factory Blend

Perdomo is a brand of cigars primarily grown and produced in Nicaragua and sold worldwide by Tabacalera Perdomo. Manufactured by Perdomo Cigars, the company is a family owned and operated business headquartered in Miami Lakes, Florida and headed by CEO Nick Perdomo, Jr.

The Perdomo Factory Tour Blend represents Tabacalera Perdomo's dedication to crafting handmade cigars using well-aged tobacco. Initially, this blend was exclusively offered at their factory in Nicaragua, but it became available to the public in 2015. It comes in three varieties: one with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, another with a Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper, and a third with a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper.

CigarPursuits Review

Appearance & Construction: 15/15

I have reviewed the Robusto-sized Perdomo Tour Blend cigar, which is 5 inches long and 52 ring gauge wide. Right away, the shiny Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper caught my attention. It looked really smooth and fancy. The top and bottom of the cigar were put together nicely. However, the cigar band was surprisingly big (don't affect the score), which made it a bit tricky to smoke comfortably. So, I had to take it off before I could really enjoy the cigar. As I looked at the cigar, it seemed well-made with no weak spots. The draw was excellent making sure I'd have a good time with my smoke.

Aroma: 14/15

The initial scent was alright. The wrapper had a pleasant nutty aroma. The cold draw was spicy and woody. These notes were decent, made me looking forward to start smoking.

Flavors: 25/35

When I lit the cigar, I experienced a robust and bold black pepper flavor, which was quite intense. This was complemented by hints of cedar, almonds, and oak. However, as I continued to smoke, the flavors remained relatively consistent. The peppery kick stayed strong, and there was a lack of sweeter elements to provide balance.

Burn & Smoke: 14/15

I found the burn to be very smooth and even. The smoke was dense, not very thick, and the ash was more grey than white.

Overall Enjoyment: 16/20

In the end, the Perdomo Tour Blend Robusto was a good cigar. It was put together really well and made for an enjoyable smoke. However, the flavors were a bit one-sided. The pepper taste was interesting, but I wished there was more variety and balance in the flavors.

Conclusion

After this review, I would rate this cigar with a score of 84. It falls under the category of "enjoyable." Overall, this cigar is a good choice if you appreciate a robust and peppery flavor profile. However, if you seek a cigar with a broader spectrum of flavors and better balance, you might want to explore other options in the market.

Bonus - Perfect Pairing

Pair your Perdomo Tour Blend Robusto with a regular cappuccino made from strong, dark coffee and creamy foam. The coffee's boldness complements the cigar's flavor, while the creamy foam adds a little sweetness. Together, they create a nice balance of flavors for you to enjoy.
