Nub Cigars are quite unique in the world of cigars. Most cigars take a while to reveal all their different flavors, especially the bigger ones like Toros and Churchills. Oliva Cigars wanted to create something different—a cigar that would show its flavors right from the start and keep them throughout the smoke.

So, they came up with the Nub—a short and chubby cigar that promised a rich and flavorful smoking experience, just like a regular cigar, even though it's shorter. Surprisingly, Nub cigars actually have as much or even more tobacco than a typical robusto, which means they should burn just as long as a regular cigar, giving you a satisfying and lasting smoke.

Appearance & Construction: 15/15

The Cameroon toothy wrapper is very appealing with its dark brown and veiny texture. It is also noteworthy for its solid construction, being very well-packed. I found the draw to be perfectly balanced, striking a harmonious balance between ease and satisfaction.

Aroma: 14/15

Before lighting the cigar, the scent is a combination of sweet grass and a hint of cocoa. When you take a puff before lighting it, you'll notice subtle notes of peanuts and coffee. These aromas prepare you for an enjoyable smoking experience.

Flavors: 29/35

As I lit up the Nub, the first part of the cigar presented the same nutty flavor I had noticed before, along with a hint of white pepper. As I continued to smoke, it shifted into a combination of dark chocolate and coffee. While the flavors were enjoyable, they leaned toward a simpler and more straightforward profile, rather than being highly complex. In the last third, the spice intensified, and there was a subtle note of cedar, which added some depth to the overall flavor. This progression in taste kept the experience engaging without being overly complicated.


Burn & Smoke: 15/15

The cigar burns very well. Even though it's a short cigar, it can last for over an hour, The smoke it gives off is more than what you might expect. The ash stays for a long time. You can even balance the cigar upright on it.

Overall Enjoyment: 19/20

I really liked the Nub Cameroon 460 cigar. It looked perfect and smelled great. The flavors were good but not super complicated. It went from nutty and peppery to chocolate and coffee, getting a bit more interesting at the end. It also burned well and lasted longer than expected, with lots of smoke. I'd definitely recommend it to both new and experienced cigar lovers for its quality and enjoyable qualities.
